About Yugm

Where convergence becomes form, and heavy industry learns to float.

the prologue

Yugm is derived from the Sanskrit concept of convergence, the act of pairing, of union. It is the precise moment where two opposing forces meet and hold still. In our practice, that convergence is literal: the sweeping, unpolished grain of sustainably sourced Jodhpur hardwood pressed against the unyielding, hand-forged character of matte charcoal iron.

We are the bespoke domestic design arm of Mansi Art Exports, a premier furniture and handicraft manufacturing house operating from Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Yugm translates that heavy capability into something rare.

Rare not as a marketing posture, but as a structural fact. Every piece we release is a numbered archival object. We do not produce collections seasonally. We produce registers; slow, considered entries into a permanent catalogue of weight made weightless.

Philosophy / Materials

the material manifesto

We practice material honesty. The grain is never hidden, never stained to imitate what it is not. The iron is never polished to a mirror. We allow the kiln, the forge, and the climate of the Thar to leave their signatures — because those signatures are the architecture.

Mango Rich, sweeping grain with natural tonal variation. [primary hardwood]
Sheesham Dense rosewood with deep figuring. Sustainably sourced, plantation-grown. [accent timber]
Sagwan & Babool Teak for structural longevity. Babool for organic sculptural elements. [structural / sculptural]
Forged Mild Steel & Iron Hand-forged in Jodhpur workshops. Matte charcoal powder-coat finish. Unyielding. [metallurgy]
Bespoke floating console in gallery space
Practice / Commissions

the archive practice

Every Yugm piece begins as an architectural negotiation, a conversation between the client's spatial reality and our material vocabulary. We do not offer a showroom. We offer a register: a curated archive of structural propositions that exist at the intersection of furniture and spatial sculpture.

Bespoke commissions are our primary practice. You bring us the room; its proportions, its light, its silence and we engineer an object that holds that space without filling it. The antigravity framework is not a style. It is a structural principle: every joint, every cantilever, every negative-space cutaway is calibrated so that mass reads as suspension.
